Prof David LEE Kuo Chuen is also the external advisor to Stanford University’s Distributed Trust Initiative, a 2015 Stanford Fulbright Scholar, Vice President of the Economic Society of Singapore, and council member of the British Blockchain Association.
Before joining SUSS in 2016, he was the Director of the Sim Kee Boon Institute for Financial Economics at the Singapore Management University, and he was the Group Managing Director of OUE and Auric Pacific. He founded and managed Ferrell hedge funds from 1998-2012 and was the property developer for Ferrell Residences. He has assisted regulators and investment associations in several capacities including the design of the framework for risk and complexity of investment products, allocation of financial research funding (Financial Research Council), Blockchain Standards (ISO) and Technology RoadMap of Singapore (AI, Big Data and Blockchain for Services & Digital Economy). He has more than 60 cited articles with nine books on Asian economics, digital currency (award-winning), blockchain, inclusive fintech, and AI. He has conducted many courses in Chinese and English on AI, Blockchain, and Big Data for Inclusion for IMF, World Bank, UNDP, Asia and PRC Regulators, and many Chinese policymakers. He has been invited speakers for Blockchain and FinTech for Singapore FinTech Festival, Afro-Asia FinTech Festival, ADB, Korean Government Functions, and many others in house training programmes.
He is an Independent Director for Lu International and Member of the Technical Advisory Board for OneConnect (both are subsidiaries of Ping An Insurance). Lu International is a licensed FinTech company. And OneConnect commercialises Ping An Technology to serve thousands of corporated including smart cities. He is also the ID of HLH Limited that specialises in Solar and Renewable Energy in developing countries.
He graduated with BSc, MSc, and Ph.D. from the London School of Economics and Political Science in Econometrics in the 1980s. His current interest is in technology for financial inclusion, distribution of trust and privacy protection.

Di Yao is now acting as Head of Legal in Google’s Shanghai office. Before Google, Di worked as Head of Legal and Business Development - APAC for GoPro and Managing Associate in King & Wood Mallesons. Di graduated from SISU Law School and received his Masters of Laws in Stanford Law School. Di also acts as Chair of Legal Committee in AmCham Shanghai.

Dr. Herzog received his PhD from the University of Dortmund in Computer Science in 1976. He worked from 1977 to 1993 for IBM Germany in software product development where he also founded and directed the first Artificial Intelligence Research Lab in Europe in 1985. From 1993-2009, he held the position of the chaired professor of Artificial Intelligence at the University of Bremen, Germany, where he founded and directed the Informatics Technology Center with more than 160 full-time researchers from 1995 to 2009. During his tenure, he developed AI systems for Industrie 4.0 and Logistics 4.0 and other application areas such as multimedia analysis and generation.
From 2000-2002, he served as the CTO of Lenze AG, one of the internationally known German hidden champions for automation system components.
From 2010 until 2019, he held the position of the Wisdom Professor of Visual Information Technologies at Jacobs University Bremen, Germany.
Since 2015, he holds the position of a Professor of Artificial Intelligence at Tongji University, Shanghai, where he develops Decision Support Systems for Urban and Rural Planning including also Industrie 4.0 and logistics concepts using AI methods such as Big Data Analytics, Deep and Machine Learning, Digital Twins, and Large Language Models. In 2021, he received the Honorary Professorship from Tongji University, and the Magnolia Silver Award from the city of Shanghai in recognition of his eminent contributions to Shanghai’s development and international cooperation.
Dr. Herzog is a Fellow of acatech – German National Academy of Science and Engineering since 2006, a Fellow of the German Informatics Association since 2008, and an International Member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering since 2021. In 2019, he was elected as one of the "Top Ten most influential people in German Artificial Intelligence" by an independent jury. In 2024, he received the Chinese Government Friendship Award.
He has (co-)authored, (co)-edited and contributed to more than 300 refereed international publications including four patents and 45 books and book contributions.
